A Wheel Being Attached To An Axle
How Wheels Are Attached

A vehicle usually has a certain amount of wheels. Cars usually have 4 wheels, these 4 wheels are attached to axle's. 2 wheels for each axle. The axle is somewhere near the bottom part of the car. The wheel has a hole, the axle is slid through that hole and there is a nail/thing on the outside of the wheel on the axle to stop the wheel from falling out, and there is another nail/thing on the inside of the wheel on the axle to stop the wheel from sliding more into the axle. There should be a tiny amount of space between the wheel and the 2 nails so there can be a decent amount of friction allowing the wheels to roll smoothly. Same goes for all the other 3 wheels.

  1. Thanks Ibrahim, your picture clearly shows the axle going through the centre of the wheel.
