My name Joyce Wang

My name "Joyce" got picked from my parents.
They chose this name because it meant happiness and everyone likes happiness.
But Joyce doesn't just mean happiness, it has a few meanings.

In Latin and American Joyce means happy, in the English meaning Joyce means joyous, cheerful and merry.
The name Joyce can be used in boys or girls, it is mainly used in girls and rarely used in boys.
Joyce has five words and one syllable.

My name

My name, Nina was chosen randomly, my mom chose my name. She had a list but she picked Nina because Nina is not a popular name in Japan and she wanted it to be unique. I have no middle name because my parents think it's not important. I didn't have any special ceremony or anything because I was born in nz. If I was born in Japan I would. The name 'Nina' is Spanish for 'little girl'.

^_^

My name is Joyce

When I was born my parents chose Joyce. They chose Joyce, because it was the first name that popped into their head and it started with 'J'.

My name has a few different meanings, depending on which country you are in. In Britain, it means 'Cheerful and Merry'. In Latin America, it  means 'Rejoicing and Joyous'. In Sweden, it means 'Little Lord'.

I didn't have a naming ceremony, but when I was young my parents would burn a little a little bit of newspaper, and they would hold me over it. The reason why they did this is because it was supposed to be 'good luck' for when I grew up.

Jacks name

I was called Jack Elliott because my great grandads were called Jack and Elliott. I did not have a naming ceremony. I could have been called Elliott Jack but Jack Elliott sounded better. Ironically Jack is another name for John which is my grandfathers name. Mum and Dad thought that my name would be a great way to honour 3 great men.

my name (max)

Before I was born my parents had a Nissan Maxima. They really liked it, and it reminded them they liked the name Max. They even called the Nissan Max! When I was born they decided to call me Max, Which I think is was pretty funny because my dad and I are petrol heads. We sometimes sit at our table and just talk and talk about Cars! My mum HATES it! My name is also similar to my dog Rex`s name. When my mom gets angry about something stupid I did (happens a lot!) she will shout out "MAX!" and then Rex goes "Hmmmm?"And then he pokes his head up!

Hannah: my name

My first name didn't involve any birth rites from either side of my family. My name was a last minute  decision. When my mum and dad bought our house they noticed that the previous owners hadn't taken their daughters name letters off the door of my room. The previous owners daughter was named Hannah. My parents contacted them they said no matter how hard they tried they couldn't get the name of the door. They joked saying they should call me Hannah. And when it came to my birth they  were stuck on what to call me so they called me Hannah.

Lucy: My Name

When I was born I was nameless for a week. So for a whole week I was 'Baby girl Neutze'.
Finally I was named Lucy by my Dad.
My middle name is 'Ella'. My Mum chose that name because she really likes Ella. My other middle name 'Ann' was chosen by my Mum because it's a family name. Both of my Grandmothers and my Mum has a middle name with Ann.
And my last name (my family name) is 'Neutze', well, because it had to. On both of the sides of my family I was the 4th grandchild, and 4 is one of my lucky numbers.
I didn't have any sort of ceremony or gathering when I was born.
Lucy :-)

My name

My Mother chose the name Rebecca because she liked it! When I was born my family hosted the Mead Family Christmas, which they do every year but this one was a bit more special because everyone new that I would be the last grandchild of 16. My middle name Kathleen is named after my Grandmother. And my last name Mead is just because of my Dad's side. We don't always really celebrate a birth on the Mead side that much because their are about 70 of us altogether!

Me and my name

My first name was very popular around the time I was born - there were always loads of Catherines in my class at school.  Maybe there was someone famous who inspired the popularity of the name - I can think of Catherine Deneuve and Katherine Hepburn who were both movie stars in the 1960s.

My second name (Ducarel) comes from my father's family.  It is a very old French name (funnily enough).  My great uncle also had this second name.  We have many family heirlooms from this side of the family.  I have passed on this name to one of my daughters, she probably dislikes it as much as I used to.  I always wished I had a "normal" second name, like Jane or Elizabeth which were also popular at the time.

I was baptised as an Anglican in the village church in England at the age of about 3 months.  Family members came and there was a big lunch to celebrate.  I was the first grandchild on my mother's side, so I was very important!  I wore a white gown made of lace.

Room 14 Int. Studies Name Homework

Michael means: Angel of peace (haha)

For my 'naming ceremony I was Baptized (which we learned about in class) and my name was chosen because when I was born my parents thought it suited me.
