 I decided to look at how wheels are  attached to vehicles. One of the ways to do  this is by using an axle. An axle is a  straight bar passing through the centre of a  wheel. 

 The purpose of an axle is to secure the  wheels to a specific

 location Every vehicle with wheels has 

 an axle. Without an axle, the wheels 

 would not remain fixed in position and the

 weight of the vehicle would make the wheel 

 bend flat.
