                                Alexander the Great.

                                                                  By Joyce.Y

Alexander the great was the king of Macedonia and the conqueror of the Persian empire. He was the son of King Philip II and Olympias.

Alexander was born on September 20, 356  B.C . In 336 B.C, Alexander's father King Philip, was murdered by Pausania who was a Macedonian noble man. Alexander was 19 when his father was murdered and was determined to take the throne, because he thought that he was extraordinarily gifted. Alexander died of malaria on June 13, 323 B.C.
Alexander was born in Pella, Macedonia and died in Babylon.

Alexander conquered many places and defeated lots of armies.
Alexander was inspired by a story that his mother told him about Achilles, whose mother said to Achilles, "Would you rather die old and not be remembered, or die young and be remembered?"

While Alexander was still a teen, he became a soldier and went on his first military mission against the Thracian tribes. In 338 B.C, Alexander took control of the companion cavalry, and helped his dad in defeating the Athenian and Theban people in Chaeronea.

  1. Hi Joyce!

This was a really good post it told me a lot about Alexander the Great and what he went through to become a leader. I liked how you included how he was inspired to lead change.
